How to stay motivated always?

Staying motivated at all times is the dream we all long for. But achieving it looks like an unachievable task, thanks for the environmental circumstances and cutting throat competitive age we are living in. There is still good news that staying motivated is possible and achievable. It isn’t a dream anymore, it can be a reality. Staying motivated doesn’t just keep you in a happy space, but it also helps achieve your goals seamlessly. One may feel that with constant distractions in life like constant emails from work, endless number of texts and the non-stop web access it is not possible and can be a big struggle. But this isn’t the case anymore. Read on the steps to find how to stay motivated always:

  1. Remind yourself of your abilities and passion: One of the primary reasons for loosing motivation is by comparing ourselves to others and forgetting about our very own abilities and passion within. We are all having some or the other unique talents, the key is finding out what are those talents. Instead of running for those abilities and passion we don’t have, we should first create a finesse in the ones we have. And constantly reminding ourselves of them will only help boost our motivation.
  2. Stay healthy: A great healthy body will always make you feel happy from within. And this will make you think creatively, making you feel happy about your presence. The more energetic your body feels from within, the healthier is the mental state. Eat healthy, don’t skip meals. Ensure you eat lot of fresh food like fresh fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated as the cells and tissues of the body need water for proper functioning.
  3. Watch motivational stuff on the internet: Instead of passing your time on social media by liking pictures or posting some every now and then, use that time to see some motivational videos. These can act as tools for thinking out of the box as well as opening up positive emotional centers in the mind. Guided meditations can again be great tools for making your mind relax and also happy at the same time.
  4. Face your fears: The tendency of normal human mind is to run away from their fears consciously whereas the truth is that these fears run in the background. On an average we think about 600,000 thoughts a day, but of course consciously we can report all of them. Almost half of these thoughts are based on our deep-rooted fears. Hence, it is time to face them. You can start this by sitting in a quiet place with a paper and start writing down the fears you’ve been hiding from your own self. Then, use conscious breathing techniques to release these fears one by one. This may take a little while, but this exercise is worth in the long run. It will help release negative thoughts and your mind will automatically have more space for positive ones.
  5. Create achievable goals: It is true that we need to push our boundaries, come out of the comfort zone to raise ourselves and move to the next level of achievement. But this is also the reality that pushing yourself in the first go and then loosing will break your self-confidence. Hence, it is important to begin with creating achievable goals. If need be, break your goals into smaller ones. Each achievement will only boost your self-confidence, make you motivated to move to the next level. For example, if you want to lose weight, don’t create a goal of losing 20 kilos’ in the first month, break it down into smaller goals and keep achieving the smaller milestones to accomplish the bigger goal.
  6. Manage your time effectively: Time management is very crucial to stay motivated. We all have the same 24 hours just like the successful people have. Hence, it is important to learn the art of prioritizing the to-do list.

The first square contains activities which need your urgent attention, second with long term goals which are important but not urgent, third with distractions which look urgent but are not important and the fourth one with Time – wasting activities which are neither important nor urgent.   7. Gratitude is my Attitude: We are all blessed with many things in life which we should be grateful for. But unfortunately, we are busy cribbing about things we don’t have in life. To stay constantly motivated, it is important to remember those blessings we have. Maintain a journal of gratitude on your phone or your computer or write it down in a book. Read it as often as possible but definitely the first thing in the morning and the last thing before going to bed. This will help you think about happy moments of life and your mind will automatically be focused on creating more happy memories.
  8. Maintain the balance of giving and receiving: When we are ready to receive always, then we should be also ready to give. By giving I don’t mean that donate money only. Start by taking care of elderly people around you who need support or by playing with children who don’t have anyone to play with. Or perhaps teaching a new language to children in orphanage who can benefit from it in the long run. Helping your own parents or elders adapt to the latest technology if they aren’t techno savvy and feel it as a hindrance to live their life freely and independently. Remember, it is only when we maintain the balance of giving and receiving then we can feel satisfaction and peace in our heart. And this is definitely important to keep you motivated.
